marinized v12 running 2 x 808's

Holden/Delco Tuning. ALDL, OBD 1.5. Circa 1989 to 2004.

Had a run in the boat got some logging done with wideband ,mufflers were a success (no performance loss) and nice note.
Had an issue in second log (k2)at the 2.03 mark .engine bogged down a bit so I backed off straight away think we might have a slight misfire .
Will post both logs. K1 was 13:1 wot and k2 was 12.5 wot

spark plugs out revealed an oily plug ,leak down test revealed too much leakage around piston so looks like a tear down

detonation is a killer might get injectors flow tested

Apparently jag v12 engines are really prone to detonation due to the poor squish area. Aftermarket pistons have show to fix that issue. Might be something worth looking at?
I'm the director of VSH (Vlad's Spec Holden), because HSV were doing it ass about.

those are the aftermarket pistons with squish area

fitted an old bottom end that I had lying about not balanced and 9:1 comp 90 mm bore rather than 91mm bore 10.6:1 comp cost me 800rpm at wot but it will have to do for this summer boat still good for 80kmh .Pretty sury detonation was caused by to hot a heat range spark plugs plugs but shall rebuild bottom end with 10:1

If Its Got Gas Or Ass Count Me In.if it cant be fixed with a hammer you have an electrical problem

So what has the detonation actually done. Damaged the rings or something?
