VS L67 conversion
Re: VS L67 conversion
Dylan is correct the 12p code and 808 ecu is more work and more of an adventure. the l67 ecu will work with VATS turned off ( vehicle anti theft system ) and maybe some adjustments to the fan settings and mask all the auto codes. all done to the memcal.
Re: VS L67 conversion
If it was my daily. I'd run the VS harness. VS PCM (unmodified) VS memcal with VATS off fans re set for no BCM. And fit a SGI5. And a few adjusments to the tune to suit the manual trans.
I'm in Vic if it helps maybe someone's local to you that can help.

Re: VS L67 conversion
Ok, so where do we get a memcal from that has all that done. I guess there are good ones and bad ones around as well.
Re: VS L67 conversion
Just re write the one you have now. Unless your PCM didn't come with one?
Re: VS L67 conversion
Who re writes them? And the speedo in the VC runs a mechanical head with a cable so that may be a problem.
Re: VS L67 conversion
Not a problem just expensive. Inline senders are available that screw in and give mechanical and electrical outputs. PM me if I can help. I've done these before.
Re: VS L67 conversion
No worries, thanks. Ill pm you tomorrow.
Re: VS L67 conversion
you can get a cable to go from the t5 to the dash and a vl speedo has a speed sensor built into the back where the cable goes in or the most common way is to use the guts out of a vn speedo fit it into the vc cluster. you can get inline speed sensors also from here http://www.alburyspeedo.com.au/ i hope that helps im in brisbane if you need a memcal made.
Re: VS L67 conversion
Before anyone tells him to race out a buy a speedo signal adapter. (ala hall effect mod)
I've seen two VS ecms (including my own), that had the hardware fitted to directly support the t5 sensor.
The easiest is using one of those suggested inline speedo cable drive adapters that bring out a speed signal, and lets you run a cable to the dash.

Re: VS L67 conversion
I've heard of that on some. Not sure how these motors like it but you may get away with no VSS to the PCM. On a 5 litre manual you get away with it on a stocky. Not best practice though.
