Vr cal into vs

Post by jezza351 »

Just got a question
Tuning a vs v8 auto for a friend and using a $11 cal file, it runs fine but it will bring up code 68 (trans slip ) and code 80 (no idea) after a short time driving.
Has anyone encountered this issue before ?
If I go back to a vs cal the code doesn't come back but need to use the $11 as its a lot more defined.

I've used 11P on a VS V8 auto no worries. And it's fully defined.

Trying to work out what's causing it , seems it's only happening at light throttle as the tcc comes on . In the cal the slip threshold is 200 rpm , I had a look through the vs cal and it seems code 68 had been turned off . Wonder if anyone's come across this before. May just be able to change the slip threshold for the fault to come on or turn it off.

VS has a PWM torque converter lock up clutch. Previous was on or off. Might be worth looking into around that.

yes this was a problem in VR models, holden later revised it after many complaints, then in VS they just disabled it.

Just check your datalogs and see how tcc is holding up, usually good trans will hold it under 100rpm no problem with normal driving. If not you can try adding more apply pressure duty cycle.

From memory 11P has the TCC at 100%.

Live data shows the trans slip at 300rpm when tcc engages , any reason I can't just switch 68 off ?

you can turn it off, at 300rpm it will cause a fair bit of heat over a period.
