Those pcms are compatible, but you'll need to flash the right calibration in for your car if the software mismatches.

Thanks. I've come across the exact ECU with same numbers now so will grab that instead just for the hell of it.

Is there a way to work out the part number for the BCM without digging it out from under the dash?

I'd like to grab a spare for it as well.

Mine is 2004 VY V6 Commodore Executive Wagon. 4L60E. 4x Electric windows. *NO* Climate control, just the 3 knobs.

My end goal is to Wire a ECU, BCM, & Dash together on a test bed so I can play with the code etc. I have a friend that used to disassemble 6800 code for a living so am hoping to maybe get into these.

I dont off the top of my head, but if you grab it all from the same car (and the connectors off the ends of the loom) you'll be ok

It's OK. I found if you take the air vent off the side of the dash (3 screws) you can peak in and read the BCM numbers.

Mine is.

92155 - 210 - MID
|||||||||||||||
WB 117943.7
Body Control Module
G.M.H.A
Australian Arrow PTY. LTD.
Made in Australia

The one I can get is 92155 - 210 - MID.

But the other number doesn't match. It's

WB058642.7

Out of a 2003 VY S Pac instead.

What would the difference be?

configuration of what modules are in the car that it talks too. i cant say what they are off the top of my head. also any non matching pair the bcm will not be linked to your ecm so you'll need to disable vats or link them. disable vats is enough for your purposes and easy.
