Hi all,
For those who don’t know I run a diagnostics company here in NZ that specialises in Holden.
Now I have had a customer come to me with a problematic bcm in his vx s2 Clubsport.
Now normally I would just relink up another Bcm and send them away.
However as those that are in the know, ESS kicks in and cuts all my comms
Now before I go calling my customer. Back in before I try this I thought I’d ask for some advice.
I don’t want to eliminate the ESS (at this stage anyway) but I do need to relink a new bcm to the vehicle.
Now seeing as ESS Kicks the shits when the second hand bcm is connected and cuts comms, I thought I’d pull it all out (Pcm, pim, bcm) and link it all on bench.
But then I hear the ESS holds the bcm security number (which now has obviously changed)
So even though all linked will probably still cut comms if it doesn’t match.
My other option is trying to perhaps read the eprom from current bcm and see if I can see the bcm code then rewrite the new bcm with the old bcms eeprom data. Assuming vx bcms hold the data on eeprom like they do everything else.
I know there is a procedure but finding anything is difficult. (And for good reason)
I understand this is not something those who know may like to reply on an online forum and I do ask those to send me a PM with any info you can to get this customers vehicle back up to scratch.
Happy to point anybody toward my business website/Facebook page for authenticity;)
Thank you
Trev
