How to know if your cars had a chip upgrade?

Post by JohnDee68 »

Hi there everyone,
I have a friend who just bought a 2004 Holden Statesman with the 5.7L V8 LS1 enigine. I beleive is standard in that car.
I was wondering if there is anyway, without taking it or parts out of the car. is there a way to see if it has been chiped?
Like is there a part in TunerPro that you can see if it has been chipped?

your thoughts appreciated.

John.

If you can read the tune from the ECU you could tell. But without that you'll only be guessing

There is also such a thing as a downgrade. Just because its changed does not necessarily mean its better.
