whats a good tech2 tool to use for vx v6 ALDL.

Post by JohnDee68 »

hi everyone,miss
i have some issues with my vx 2002 v6, after some how corrupting it while trying to upload BIN and CAL file.

The best way I learn is to try fix something first myself, but i think a pc and an ALDL cable isnt going to cut it this time.

so, If i need to use a Tech2 machine, what are ones I should look at sourcing please?

I think I need one to relink the modules PCM,BCM, ECU all together as security ID of them may be the cause of my fault.

Is this the tools referred to when people talk about Tech2 ?

Is there anything I should consider before sourcing one?

appreciate any assistance guys, please.

John.

Yes it is. Rumour has it those ones (clones) dont tend to last. That aside, I dont think it'll be that helpful here. It will be able to relink the pcm and the bcm, but if you cant disable vats with tunerpro and the oseflash tool due to comms failure you wont get further with a tech 2 as it wont be able to talk to it either.
Have you read the FAQ? For lots of information and links to significant threads see here: http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1396

thanks antus.
SO am I correct then in understanding that the VATS may have been left or turned on wich possibly is causing the lack of starting engine?
If I can Command Send to the F4 (PCM) module, turning off the VATS, is there a chance it will again allow the motor to run?

thanks again,
John.

Looks like you might have bricked it mate.

I have posted more on your first thread about the issues your having.

I have one of the clones and they do ok, but personally you might be better looking to "borrowing one" to see if it solves your issues.

i had no problems with my tech2 clone, i had more issues with cheap cards more than anything, especially when trying to flash over serial with acdelco tds. But not really a problem now as updates dont happen anymore, you can flash your card with an old laptop that has a pcmcia writer slot.
