$12P Desired Idle Speed

Post by pman92 »

Hey guys,
Quick question with idle control with $12P.

-Closed loop idle is set.
-Idle speed vs battery voltage table is set at 760 in the 12v and 14v cells. Battery voltage is 13.8v.
-IAC is no maxed out or fully closed, something like 30 steps.
-Idle speed in neutral for manual trans is 760 (vehicle is a manual) but idle speed in park/neu and idle speed in drive are all set at 760.

It still idles at 800rpm, and "Desired Idle RPM" is still 800 in the data list.

What table or other settings could be bringing the idle up from 760 to 800?

Thanks

Pretty sure I used the manual idle table and it worked.

There is a temp offset and decay parameters I am sure that effect idle on top of the set values in those tables you are looking at.

I generally get everything to full temp and running for a while before playing with idle settings so I can actually see what does what. When other decays and offsets are in play it makes it confusing as desired idle doesn't match actual idle table values.
I'm the director of VSH (Vlad's Spec Holden), because HSV were doing it ass about.

yeah it could be the IAC - fast idle offset v's coolant temp table thats causing it, on the v6 tunes it is still adding 25rpm at 80 degrees and 100rpm at 56 degrees ....

like vlad said, make sure its at running temp before you worry too much about it.
