424 has high speed comms and will be better for logging. 808 need to be modified to achieve the same.

Forget about adapting a VN loom into a VS. VR looms have a slight variance in the engine bay and aren't a direct plug in.
VS V8 looms are around.

Good chance of finding one of them. But will need work to remove all auto wiring. Modify the extension housing like Holden202T has done to match up with the speed signal of the PCM and you'll be in your way.
