Hi everyone, new to the forum, and needing a little bit of advice to get started with.
I have a VS Calais that is currently a V6 Ecotec, but I intend to replace it with a VR/VS V8 and auto that I have sitting in my shed. I also have a VS Statesman with 5 litre and auto. I intend to put a cam in the engine sitting in the shed along with dual plane manifold, 4bbl throttle body and extractors etc, and I would like to know which NVRAM I am going to need to use with the new engine, and if I will have to change the whole ECU over or not. Basically I want to buy the right one the first time. I do already have an ALDL cable.
Thanks in advance,
Banksy

Re: VS V6 Ecotec to VS V8
You'll have to use the v8 ecu with the v8 as the Ecotec Ecu is different then for the Calais once the 5l is in and also the statesman you'll want this nvrm viewtopic.php?f=14&t=3612

Thanks! That's a big help. I had questions whether I would have to change the ECU's over or if I could get away with just changing the chips.
