Hi
I am new to this forum and have been trying to work out what ECU I have in my recently purchased 1989 GMC C1500 Pickup truck. I have been able to determine the motor is a 350 LT1 from a 94-96 Camaro. However what perplexes me is that the ECU is labeled 16176424 BMZA which i understand is from a 5.0l VR Commodore? I guess the VR is the same vintage as the Camaro so wondering if the ECU used by Holden is simply taken from GM in US? Any guidance would be much appreciated so I can then select tuning software. thanks in advance.
cheers
Walter

The '165 you have there is compatible with our '308. You can find those locally and run them with our $12P software. See here for an example. https://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewt ... f=8&t=5591 or https://www.eecis.udel.edu/~davis/z28/ecm_swap_730/ You can convert to $12P to run a MAP (1, 2 or 3 Bar) and Multi port injection.
Having said that you can run the computer on anything, so with a '424 you can get our $11P and tune with that. Click the FAQ link (near the top right of the screen) for some links to $11P to stick with your '424.
