Holden 424 OBD2

Post by Ajvx01 »

Sorry if this is a foolish question as I'm new to this but has anyone found a way to get a functioning OBD2 port out of the old 424 Ecus?

It'd be great to be able to have an app like Torque Pro on an android head unit.

Hopefully someone can shed some light on the idea for me!

Not OBD2 compatible, the 424 still uses the GM ALDL at a baud rate of 8192bps on pin 9 of the obd2 connector.

Thanks mate, appreciate the quick response.
Is there anyway to get a simple android based live dash or similar like you can with the OBD2 systems that you know of?

Yes aldl droid works. If the ADX files are too complicated they might not work, but in general it works well and the author does a good job of maintaining and improving it. There are a few vids of it on youtube from people trying it.

Thanks mate,
I'm chatting to the developer now. He's a very helpful guy!
I just have to see if an android head unit can work with the USB interface.
