Hi
New to the new forum.
Looking at putting and autometer dash setup in my VN.
A bit stuck on the speedo wiring.
I know the VSS sends a 10 pulse signal to the VN cluster which divides it by 5 then sends it to the factory ECM a 2 pulses per revolution.
The speedo output on the autometer gauge is a +5v sine wave signal.
Is this sufficient for the ecu or do i need a different speed sensor for the transmission? A 2 pulse sender maybe?
Any info much appreciated.

Re: VN speedo pulse autometer gauge
The factory 3 wire hall effect is a square wave signal. You could tee off the input to the dashboard and run it direct to the ecu but you will need to change the ppk in the tune to the same as vr like about 6250ppk
If Its Got Gas Or Ass Count Me In.if it cant be fixed with a hammer you have an electrical problem

Cheers delcowizzed...
Is that hard to do...i would assume you need the tuning software?
I was thinking of just changing the vss to a 2 pulse as thats what the ecu reads but whatever is easiest.

Reprogramming the memcal and running the speed sensor directly to ECU would be the easiest.
If you don't have the equipment someone on here could do it easily enough if you post your memcal to them
