4L60 trans behind ecotec

Post by robkeith »

Hi,

Information required please.

I have a 4L60 trans behind an ecotec running on an 808 ecu with modded memcal.

I am now thinking of going L67 but have to keep the 4L60 trans (hilux conversion, and recent H/D rebuild, output shaft is custom so changing trans is a no go)

What do i need to do to run the VT l67 loom? remove VATS from memcal?, I dont want to use a BCM or simulater if possible. Or could i use a modded VS loom if easier?

I have a manual switch for the TCC. VSS is also aftermarket directly connected to the ECU

regards

Bit off topic, but a mob on youtube "PRECISION TRANSMISSIONS" showed a wiring mod for 4l60/700r4 but I can't for the life of me find the vid.

To remove computer control/manual switch they chop the loom inside and run the TCC lockup solenoid thru the 4th gear pressure switch and temp sensor to ground, so all that's needed to have it automatically lockup in in OD is a +12V feed to the trans.

jxx,
thats what i have done re the TCC runs through an on/off switch as well as the 4 gear switch in the trans.

you suggest staying with the 808 ecu and loom then?

$11p or $12p 2 BAR MAP?

$11p will run all the electronics for 4L60E even the later PWM controlled TCC solenoid, but yeah needs the 424 VR style computer & not the older 808

No, I think em wants to stay with the 4L60/T700R4 rather than upgrade to the 4L60e.

But yes, I would suggest staying with the 808 and using 12p to MAP tune the L67, Otherwise a VS PCM would probably work better than a VT one as it is less hassle without the BCM.
