I got your PM Mr DOHC but answering here. Yes you need a programmer like any version of a TL866 from ebay. Once you have that that you can remove the dallas chip, setup the programmer and write your kalmaker tune back to it, or write a 12p base tune to it. the process is the same. note that the 12p threads often talked about the stacked bin, that is 128kb in size, and fits the dallas DS1245Y chip we supply with our nvrams. The Kalmker one you have is a DS1230Y which is half the size, so you'll need to stack your 32kb bin twice to make it 64kb then write that to the chip. The security chip (the one labeled NDS032S) allows kalmaker to work on that hardware. 12P will run the same whether its there or not, so which ever software you put back on there you might as well leave that chip in so you always have options. Be careful when your pulling the dallas chip (the nvram) off, they tend to want to jump out at the last second and bend the corner pin.
Have you read the FAQ? For lots of information and links to significant threads see here: http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1396

I have also suggested Mr DOHC acquires a TL866 Burner.
I wrote OSE 12P V112 BLCF V8 onto his DS1230Y and sent it off to him.
The TL866 can be had for $65 AU. As I suggested to DS, it will pay for itself many times over.
Your chip may also be nearing the end of it's battery life, October 2006 manufacture date is not a bad run.
Another reason to get that DS1245Y lol

Thanks for the reply Antus. Since I sent you that PM I express posted the whole ECU to QUIPT4IT and he fixed it right up.

I’ll order a newer 1245 and programmer soon.

Thanks for everyone’s help.

That is the correct size. Don't forget, it's OSE $12P V112 BLCF.

It wont connect to the ECU and throws the generic error, check connection, check version etc
Re-connect the ECM with battery disconnected. Connect battery.
Connect your cable, turn ign. on. Open TunerPro. No luck, the fans are still going full tilt.

Does it matter what ADX of XDF i have open?

First you need to connect, check through all those things listed
When connected, then you have to use the matching XDF.
ADX doesn't matter until you start logging.
If you download the zip file for OSE $12P V112 it will have all three.
Look for it in the FAQ's. :study:
