HELP PLEASE!! 424 won't connect on OBD

Post by BARBS »

Hi all,

I am having some issues connecting a 424 with ALDL and OBD.

Tunerpro is set up correctly with the right XDF, ADX and a 5lt BIN. Correct comms port etc

Pin C1 and D1 have power, ground is correct. ECU powers up and primes fuel output as expected.

OBD pin 9 goes to C11
OBD pin 5 is ground
OBD pin 6 is D6
OBD pin 16 is acc power.

I have soldered the read write wire as required on the back of ECU board.

PCM and RW jumpers are on.

No matter I try I can't connect with tunerpro.
Any ideas what could be wrong here?

Any advice would be great thanks.

I must add this is a new NVRAM with $11p but I did mistakingly put it into a 305 and try connect to it at one stage. Is it likely this has damaged the NVRAM? in any way?

I'm asuming you've read through all of this...

There's a plugin you need & other mod's but it sounds like the NVram shouldn't be corrupt if fuel pump is priming & fans aren't staying on.

I'd suggest taking the RW jumper off before you go any further. Get it communicating properly and leave it in the write protected state until you know all your wiring is good and you can link up from tunerpro. Its easy to make a mess of things at this stage while your getting it set up right.
