Da connected constantly dropping out

Post by Brendo »

Hi guys, in have a vs ecotec running a 424 with nvram and 11p.
With the ignition on and engine off i can connect to log data no worries, once i start the car the da connected icon just flicks between red/blue and obviously effects the data stream. I can connect to the vehicle and emulate fine its just the logger thats the issue. I have tried the following with no luck.
Replaced plugs and leads “resister plugs”
Removed all the relays/fuses that i can to keep the engine running
Removed the drive belt to eliminate the alternator
Removed the power for the wide band
Replaced the computer
Rewired dlc plug outside of the original harness
Tried another dfi module with coils
Checked all engine earth points and added another temporary ground to be 100%
Nothing seems to improve the issue and im at a loss of where to go next.
I did have this all working fine last year without issue and no changes have been made to the car since. I had it working this morning for around an hour or so but then started the treaded blue/red flash!!!! Any ideas from anyone thats had similar issue? Cheers.

It sounds like you’ve done everything on the car side.
Two issues I’ve had
1. Charging laptop of a cigarette lighter in the car and trying to log at the same time, think I get some form of ground loop
2. Try a good quality USB lead with a ferrite bead, cheap USB leads have caused me no end of problems

Hi mate, i forgot to add that i have replaced the lead with one that has ferrite beads and that the laptop isnt on charge its just running off its battery. I also ordered an entire new aldl lead/plug from ebay, envious customs i think it was. Exactly the same issue. Im so close to just putting emu black in it and be done with it. Thanks anyway mate.
