Re: cabling?
Unless it has some sort of circuit in the cable head then most likely not. It it a parallel interface? Some more info about it may help.

Re: cabling?
yes it is an prefabbed aldl connector for a DTC scanner, has lpt port style connector on one end, aldl on other, just bought a 15ft extension cable and was going to attempt to try it.

Re: cabling?
if it plugs into a handheld scantool it wont work will just be an adaptor cable for swapping on the right plug for the scantool
If Its Got Gas Or Ass Count Me In.if it cant be fixed with a hammer you have an electrical problem
Re: cabling?
yes it works well as just an extension, now i can scantool from 15 feet away...lol...wow, if only it would work thru the lpt and flash...i would have ben rolling high today...thanks guys...
Re: cabling?
can you point me in the right direction of a cable setup that will work with the flashtool? for a 1999 gm aldl/ecm/obd2?
i would like to use this grabber in conjunction with a tuner ie tunerpro or tiny tuner...thanks jeff g

Re: cabling?
you'd firstly need to work out what pins on the aldl plug go to which pins on the parrallel plug, then you'd be able to work out an interface to connect it to something.
what car are you trying to connect it to ?

No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Re: cabling?
Is it 8192 baud ALDL or OBD2? There are some aussie PCMs that are combined OBD2 and ALDL but it would seem that not all the normal ALDL modes implemented - plus they have security to get around before you can dump the ROM.
Also, the flashtool only supports ALDL and is really limited to just aussie vehicles at the moment. So unless your running a bin modified for ALDL mode 10 write along with an NVRAM you can only read from the ECU - and thats providing you know the ALDL mode and it is not locked, which if its a 1999 US vehicle there is a good chance its got security.
