with the L19 bin's, would they work on my engine? as far as i know they are 4 injectors in the throttle body and mine is a multi port with an injector in each intake runner.

the l19 would be a really thirsty 4 cylinder...

All factory TBI vehicles were 2 injector set-ups.

Those bins as they are won't work unless you have the proper ECM for them. The $42 code mask bins require a 1227747 ECM.

bit of an update. the ecu that was included in the sale was actually one off a 1997-98 (16263494) which is a bit easier cos' its supported by a lot of aftermarket tuners.

am i correct in assuming that the OBD2 diagnostics port only needs one data wire? it seems i use pin 16 on constant, 4 and 5 on earth and pin 2 on the serial data link.

is that it?

what i would like to do is be able to start the engine and run it on this ecu, grab a couple of hours of data and then switch to an 808 so i can do my cam/injector swap, kill the MAF and generally do all the cool stuff you can do with older delcos.

I think you'll find that running the engine on the original PCM to retrieve data will be a waste of time.

Since the original PCM uses a MAF, it's fuel tables are different than an SD or SD only ECM, and this also usually changes the data that is on the datastream.

Also without the original tranny (IIRC you're changing that), the PCM will go into a limp mode that would skew any data that you will get anyway.
