let me just confirm, you are running a $5D tune and you are using a 1227808 ecm ?

the fact your not getting codes and such makes me think there is an issue with the memcal burn and its running in limp mode.

Do you know what size EPROM is in the memcal? You might just need to adjust the offset when burning. The bin looks ok when compared to another 5D bin.

Another option is to burn a standard unmodified bin and confirm you can flash codes before trying with a modified bin.

that should work. minimum you should need is power on B1, C16 power to CEL light to A5, ignition signal to A6, ground to A12, D1.

Quite possibly you dont need all those power and ground, but thats what I have on my test bench. I cant find any doco at the moment on what pins are shorted to flash codes (I have 12p and normally use tunerpro to read them via aldl) but it does sound like your problem is with the burn or with the memcal carrier itself. However, I would verify the pin is still the same on 5D code. It could be that the tune is far enough out to look like its in limp home, and the pin is the wrong one to flash codes. Though you would see advance if you revved it.

Note that you can install one of these in to an '808 to make it in to a '165 if you need spare ecus. https://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=398 and then you can use 12p and get all the advantages of high speed logging. (and the rest of the features...) https://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=356

another option is to convert an 808 to usb with one of these https://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=164 and set it up for realtime with one of these https://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=167 The usb option makes it essentially a '165 but without echo on the aldl. The same definitions will work with the right echo setting.

also note that 12p does not require the nvram to run (only for realtime tuning). It runs just fine from a prom with 32kbyte, and will also run with high speed comms in your '165. Getting a memcal with a 27c256 or 27c512 on it, some flash memory or an nvram and using 12p would be a better way to go than using the old factory 5D code.

12P is by default set for 1 bar MAP sensor and works with a narrowband O2 sensor still.

https://pcmhacking.net/forums/download ... hp?id=4269 there .first off you will wqant to check base timing with a timing light with diagnostic plug bridged before much else.and do you have external knock filter or a filter board on the memcal

The file linked to by delcowizzid is using OSE12P, the zip file here has the XDF and ADX .. https://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=356

You will need to use a 32k or larger EPROM.

pin A8 is 8192 baud bi-directional ALDL AND A9 IS DIANOSTIC ENABLE wire when earthed will lock timing at 10 degrees and flash error codes out on check engine light

If your using the $12P that you were linked to there is an ADX there which is used in TunerPro to log the information, which is all detailed on how to sections!
