GMDAT ECU board pic

Post by 06t200 »

Just for amusement, here is a photo of my project on the bench. Seems like the board was made by Hitachi, with the usual secret squirrel chips. Out of an 07 T-body GM/Daewoo rig. This one in particular has no serial output on pin C31, but it does have reference voltage on all other pins. So it came pre fried, so I figured why not look inside. It's made in Korea, but used in US market cars.

FYI

PS: If any components look familiar to anyone, please feel free to chime in. Thanks!

Cool that most components have identification includind the cpu. Just not that one big delphi chip. Infineon tricore architecture.

Thanks The1! That would be the flash chip. The Delphi chip is the only real unknown. I will measure the MPU and see if I can match up the series# based on the package info. There seems to be a bootloader tool for some of the tricore chips using the J5 pins FWIW

More clues to add in.

Media blurb announcement of Delphi jumping in bed with Infineon, and mentions a chip base: http://www.infineon.com/cms/en/about-in ... 30733.html

Datasheet for the tc1775
http://www.datasheetcatalog.com/datashe ... 0EBA.shtml

Question: What is the best way to peel the flash chip off the board? Can I do it with a fine tip on my iron and a solder suction tool? Im green when it comes to SMD soldering.
Thanks
