Sure can, a '165 is operationaly identical to a '808 (except for the SXR chip) and '3082 - a few people in Oz have bought a '165 from the US to work in VR/VS manual conversions or to get faster ALDL on a VN/VP. There are some board layout changes through the years so they may not look 100% identical but are extremely close physically also.

VL400....

I just noticed you live in Perth.

I lived there about 23 years ago, for about 6 months. Beautiful city. Lived 2 blocks from the ocean, and never went swimming, dipped my toes in though. I also stayed in a little town farther inland for a month, Northam if I remember right.

Someday I WILL make it back down there, hit up the places I didn't get to see when I was down there, and this time I can do it on my own. I was a kid back then. I want to see Ayres Rock, and the gold coast, as well as go back to Perth again. I plan to make it at least a month long trip. Ging across the outback by train was more fun than I would have thought, especially being a kid. The 3 days really didn't feel that long.

Ahh, the memories.

Oh I made it to the beach, just didn't go for a swim. :? I walked along the beach a bunch of times.

Yeah, I'd want to take my time with some things....

I'd also want to go to some of the places where Mad Max was shot....

Well, it looks like everything is confirmed now.

I think I'm going to give the car back with the original ECM, for now, while I make an adaptor harness, to then use a '7749, to run $59. :)

Not my car, and what fun is it to buy a chip?

Besides, the engine itself has some (lots) of internal changes, which likely wouldn't match anything that anyone else has. ;)
