Checksum 2000 grand prix gtp

Post by Tyson »

Hello I've started an XDF for my 2000 GTP wondering if anyone can point me in the direction to figure out the checksum I no were it's located just not sure how to get it so it adds it up when saving I'll post the xdf and file later when I get home to my labtop. Also the tiny tuner does the checksum right and is open source wondering if we can borrow it from there thx Tyson

Sure. There might be more than one sum too. Probably just 16bit sums, starting after the sum and running to the end of the segment. You should be able to use hxd to highlight and calc to test guesses more quickly, or just read the tiny tuner source.
Have you read the FAQ? For lots of information and links to significant threads see here: http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1396

I expect will be similar to LS1 as Antus has alluded to and have multiple 16bit sums as there will be one for each segment.
Had a quick look at the bin file and can see that VIN is 17 digit ASCII starting at hex 601A, 1G2WR5219YF282882

Ok so doing a bit more work on the XDF and I'm not sure if tuner pro can handle the checksum think a plugin would have to be made like the LS1 XDF I can post the source code for tiny tuner if someone is willing to make a plugin app I would but I havnt A clue as to do it still lots of learning hope someone can help out with it, found it in the source code and it looks like theres 4 steps to the checksum calculation but just what I'm gathering as I said not good at reading or writing code hope someone will help and heres an update for the XDF
