I just happened to stumble across a write-up about that red engine you just posted a photo of which you describe as "engineporn".

Yep. That's engineporn. :punk:

Is Zok building the engine?
Agreed. I want a VN group A or Motec if I can. Stupid money but will do what is needed.

I am building the engine with the help of a few people here in WA. Machining, second and third set of eyes to get it spot on and save some :cash: . Hence why I am in no rush.

Got the Wideband cable run via bung behind brake booster then under heater box and under carpet to ECU. Controller is zipped just off gearbox half way up dip stick tube at the moment as I need the length in cable to get reading from both banks to find the leanest side.

Not sure if its too hot up there for controller?

Next step is wire in 6 pin Deutsch plug to earths, switch power and ECU pin. I am doing it this way so I can change out to a new wideband later pretty easily. :study:
Pics to follow during the week if I get the chance.

Anyone used the LED function on the Spartan 2?

Might give it a go with a switch with light in it.

UPDATE:

Hi guys,

Got my Spartan 2 wideband installed and working. Got the car to run and drive pretty good below 3000rpm, idles without any major hunt and seams like it might need less timing at idle but close. Stumbles and pings a little after 3k so more work needed.

Now questions for the experts:

What is the best way to run the AC condenser fan and my SPAL thermo off FAN1? (had it wired to switch but want to use Delco to run fans)

Will the circuit handle just wiring both together? Or will I need to add a relay etc. What happens when Air cond is turned on?

Or is there a way to use FAN2 (A3?) and where is the wiring to do this?

My car is Series 1 VN V8 with original harness in all places (no cuts or shuts)

Hope someone can help me so I can get her on the road for a bit more tuning and logging. :driving:

i'd just leave the A/C condenser fan wiring as it is!

high speed fan output on the 808 should be C1, I dare say there is nothing there at the moment so you will need to add the required wiring and relay for it, if your fan that's on a switch is already a relay then just wire that to the C1 pin instead of the switch, then other than setting the on/off temperature you should be good to go.

Awesome! So C1 has a blue and white wire coming out of it on my harness. :)

Relay under bonnet has this blue white wire with a orange with blue strip (eg AC fan wire or FAN1)???

it must have the fan wiring in it then, that saves some work!

But this wiring is going to my A/C condenser fan currently.... Hence why I asked the question...

R37 is all there and Orange & blue is going to my AC fan... Can I run 2x fans off this circuit with 25amp fuse with ac fan pushing and thermo pulling and what will having ac on do to this setup? :comp:

These diagrams for VR V8 back this up too:
