So, as I mentioned above the Wideband goes in this weekend. I have a spare pin from VL400. I will find a "neat" way of getting the wires into cabin and hopefully working well by Sunday.

I have done a fair bit of work on my tune so far using Dylan's VK355 bin (Thanks mate) and some info I had on what timing my engine liked etc.

Last night I had car running and driving for the first time really using the NVRAM. All pretty good, a few stumbles here and there but overall running ok. (not beating on it - all under 3k).

When I got back from the drive I remembered the car was not locked @ 10 degrees as my COME eprom wasn't quite right and I used the dissy to get the tune closer. (Advanced)

Next job, set the diagnostic mode and set timing @ 10 degrees...

Thanks mate. No worries on the logs. I will try and post as much as I can along the way.

The banana's are always going to hold it back :wall: But this combo is really just for me to learn a bit more about tuning using this gear. The real fun will begin when I finish my new motor sometime next year. :)

That's a decent toy to start of with just to play with definitely interested to see the next one should be a monster. Shame you can't do to much with the bananas they look nice with a set of vt covers on top but I suppose you pay the price for power gotta be a trade off somewhere. Nice looking vn love the two tone colours looks pretty tidy

Thanks mate. Had it for 12 years now. It's done bugger all kms, and is probably best factory tuxedo black one I have ever seen. It was a prototype for a SV series HSV/Holden did in 1990 I am told. SV120 or something like that. Still got the original engine and box etc.

As far as manifold goes. Check this out on Kalmaker site. This VP was around a few years ago and it did make the power.
http://www.kalmaker.com.au/page63.html

It was an original Starr that was match ported and extrude honed as well. I would say with some dyno fudge it was 400HP all day long. :)

I wonder how the 102mm version would go? Might get mine modded later to see..

I have tuned a few cars before in my time with various ECU's and would really like to use the Delco on this car as I like to keep it close to factory as I can...
If you know what mean. :driving:

New combo will be something like this:
Engine:
355ci, 12.5:1 Comp (E85ready), Harrop Crank, Scat rods, Mahle M/SPORT or CP Bullet Forged Pistons, big custom solid roller (around 260 @50, late .600s lift on intake, 108 LSA or less), custom Heads ported/flowed to suit cam, Crane Ultra Pro roller rockers & lifters, ARP everything, ID1000 injectors, Motec Twin Throttle throttle body manifold, ASR sump, ZOK style racing oil pump, twin 044's, custom surge tank, ICE dissy, probably something to help spark.

Drive train:
Throw the other 4:11s and 4200 stall Trimatic back in.

This is in progress now (slowly) using a virgin block and I don't expect to be finishing before Xmas next year. Maybe have ready for 2020. :)

Something like this engineporn hopefully!

Be prepared to get bent over trying to find a genuine Grp A manifold. Someone really should re-manufacture these as they are still one of the best Holden EFI manifolds about.

Is Zok building the engine?

I wish someone would make them, surely there's a market for it, may be "the 1" can print some up on his 3D printer
