Post by jenko »

what parameters do I need to adjust to get the idle spark adjustment working without a knock sensor in 12p

It's turned on by default even without a knock sensor. There's a scalar for how much adjustment it can make think it's 5 degree from stock.

Its unrelated to knock control, its used for idle stability with the IAC. Spark advance can react much faster than a mechanical device keeping idle rpm closer to target. If you dont have an IAC then as Dylan mentioned, zero out "IAC - Idle spark Adjustment params - Idle spark correction limit".

Ok cool just tried it out I already had it set at zero. I have a steady idle .reset to 10 with idle spark @20 and its pulling out about 5 deg to maintain my 850 rpm idle so I might have a play and see if i can get it to add timing on cold start

had a play cold but I can't seem to get it to add timing if idle speed is to low ,posted bin and log ,was wondering if someone wouldn't mind having a look to see what I am missing

after much searching through tables I don't think it actually does advance the timing at idle above what has been set in the idle spark map. it seems it only remove advance up to what has been set in the idle spark correction limit . So have changed my idle advance to 30 and idle spark correction to 15 and wait till the morning to see what happens

It will go over the idle table values. Is closed loop idle being set? If you dont have speed sensor disabled it won't go off the idle spark table. I plan to look over your log and bin later tonight.

Is it idling above the target speed? That would cause it to demove timing

no its not when cold prety close when warm and I have had a play when warm by altering idle speed so that it should add timing and can't seem to make it happen
