vr v8 turbo base tune

Post by Wade »

ok I need some help. vr commodore running 304 v8 harrop intake, crane 284 cam, 2bar map sensor, deatsch werks 65lbs injectors, garrett t04s turbo off 7psi wastegate spring pressure. don't no what I'm doing wrong with setting the injectors up but the wideband is either saying 20:1 afr's or 7:1afr,s on the gauge.

How'd it fire with the fresh plugs? 7:1 idle would kill a set of plugs in 5 minutes then you'd get 20:1 after that with poor firing. Whats your VE at idle?

the idle ve is the same. In the log I was going into the idle ve and adjusting it as well as turning it on an off. Setting the idle ve to 40 gave the best idle any higher an it wanted to die. Still need to change the plugs, but I can't get the front 2 out with out making some kind of custom tool

What do you mean idle VE? Closed throttle VE wont be in effect unless you enable it via the flag.
30-40 %VE would be where this will want to be. But good plugs will be a must. Get set up ready in RT to make any quick adjustments once you first fire with the new plugs save killing them to quick. How much timing you running at idle?

I was using the 2bar adx but it wouldn't let me connect with the aldl in tunerpro so I changed back to the 1bar adx. I was assuming with the 2bar map selected it would still be ok? And yeah Dylan closed throttle ve is what I was playing with in real time to see the affects quick changes to the idle ve would make in both the closed throttle and main ve. I quickly found that setting the closed throttle ve and adjusting upto 1000rpm to 40 gave the best idle

Best to ensure your base timing is correct to first if not done already.
