Re: How to loose 200kgs?....
We just measured ours at 90-100lb seat pressure were meant to be 135lb wether they ever were and just gone soft or if the never were lol.new 145s on the way.we have issues adding boost max power shifts left as we add boost from boost and backpressure taking away spring pressure but we still hold power to 6000 rpm. Cam guy says stock lifters handle 145lb easy as we were going to go solids incase we loosing lift he laughed lol
If Its Got Gas Or Ass Count Me In.if it cant be fixed with a hammer you have an electrical problem

Especially since it lives most of it's life above 5000 rpm as a racecar.immortality wrote:2008, that makes about 7 seasons of racing assuming it's been used every year since been built? sounds like it's time for a re-fresh.
Springs are probably well past due for peak performance.

Exactly, 5 minutes at the red line (at full load) is like driving 50,000 km's + in a road car.
Delco's mate in the VB probably having the same issue, although he likes burnout comps which is a especially hard on valve springs.

Nah, i had a four year break when the first kid was born.
Its won 3 titles in that time, estimate about 30 hours on it. I know its due for a freshen but its not rooted, yet... It has been pampered since new with oil change after every meeting. Runs 2.92 diff gears, doesnt see much above 5500rpm on the track

According to chemistry, alcohol is a solution...

not really. going by that logic, my cars have done 6,000,000,000km then.immortality wrote:Exactly, 5 minutes at the red line (at full load) is like driving 50,000 km's + in a road car.

this is what I have designed into my virtual beast. Looking at titanium valves as well. this one is meant to go to 7.5k So need a pretty reliable valve train.delcowizzid wrote:We just measured ours at 90-100lb seat pressure were meant to be 135lb wether they ever were and just gone soft or if the never were lol.new 145s on the way.we have issues adding boost max power shifts left as we add boost from boost and backpressure taking away spring pressure but we still hold power to 6000 rpm. The V8 supecar guys spray engine oil onto the valve springs to help keep em cool and improve the service life.

Re: How to loose 200kgs?....
I wonder what spring setup its got. For my future engine Im looking at double or even tipple springs as the smaller inner springs are mainly there as dampening springs to break down harmonics.
Titanium valves and retainers, with light weight solid roller lifters and light alloy YT roller rockers will make a very happy valve train at 7k+. You can even get Manley hollow titanium valves too these days.
I know this engine has the YT platinum 1.7 rockers.
fuck this, lets just get pneumatic nitrogen filled springs and rev to 20k
