sounds like the weight and new tune with bits goes well, all the small things add up.

A little up date on this, fuel consumption has been a concern for me, after turning about 30ish laps on the weekend (and driving around the yard, on and off the wheel aligner and trailer) we only used about 15 litres of E85...
So... Approx 1/2 litre per lap?.. 100 lap race, 70ish litre tank, no drama

I was thinking this was going to be a big problem

the other thing you have to remember, you said before you were holding it flat but now you have to gradually feed the power in, this will mean your not using as much fuel and a lighter car also adds to fuel economy!

Th original tune was horrible. AFRs were around 10-11 on petrol. So that would of not helped.
I'm the director of VSH (Vlad's Spec Holden), because HSV were doing it ass about.

Would have been costing power too.

Kind of stupid really because the power enrichment function on the ecotec engines is really quiet good allowing for time and engine temp. They always ran rich though even from the factory.

Had a successful Saturday night at Alexandra running off the rear of the vic sports sedans for the first time, wow these guys are quick... Got some great data from the car as far as setup goes, had a little trouble wih the logger and missed getting anything from that to help the tune  but we will be waaayyy more ready for the 100 lapper in a couple of months.
Used only about 30lt of E85 for 60 racing laps so all my worries about fuel economy are gone :D Tyres worked well, balanced all the wheels, what a difference that made! we have much improvement to be done in the suspension/shock department, had a tone of trouble getting power down and didn't ride the really rough track very well.

Check out the tyre deflection

I would imagine with the drastic weight loss the ride will be a lot harder with the same shock/springs as before the diet.
