This may be a silly question but if stock narrowband & nvram fitted will it VE learn from it or does it have to be wideband?

Have a look in the XDF, there is narrowband and wideband VE learn. Narrowband learn only does stoich areas.

Sounds ok for testing with just stoich areas for narrowband & once setup I will get wideband in the bung!

I had a look at xdf & saw items for wideband learning but nothing really jumped out to say it will narrowband learn (image attached).

Just noticed the flags to set for wideband or narrowband VE learn, not to mention a cool closed throttle VE table that could come in handy for bigger cams!

Now just need to sort out the reason for crashing when trying to update anything with plug in & latest TP5!

Another question though how/where are the trans table shift speeds & pressures for BLCF file?

Whats easier, using the VE calculator in the history tables or using an NVRAM for setting the VE tables?

They are both very different ways of making changes. Easier in terms of what you need to do would be VE learn, but it its not a magic fix either. It does not operate as quickly as you can from a few logs, so it really should be used as more of a fine tune than trying to initially develop a table. In saying that though, I do recall in the early 12P days a user put a v8 VE table in a V6, enabled VE learn and after a week or so of driving the VE table was almost back to a V6 table for all the cells hit.
