VR with l67 help needed

Post by vp304 »

Hey guys long time i havnt been on here for.
Used to run a vp 5l turbo running on 12p with a vl400 i think hi speed coms board and using a moates ostrich 1.0

Now bought another project car a running vr ute v6 with 4l60e

Have bought a vt super 6 wreck and hoping to transplant the l67 into the vr.
Have done a heap of googling etc.
Going to keep the vr 4l60 and use the vr engine loom

My question is looks like im going to have to use 11p
Does anyone have a similar setup on a vr auto. Hoping to find a tune that can get me going then i can just street tune fine tune the fuel side on the street with my wideband.

Tune can be close to standard as ute will be a workhorse tow vehicle etc bit of fun.

To tune the vr will i be able to use my moates ostrich 1 ? Sorry been a long time since i used it last etc. Still have tuner pro etc on my pc and laptop

Any help will be appreciated
thanks

That board or your ostrich can real-time tune. And then cable for aldl logging or tuning with the nvram board viewtopic.php?f=14&t=3616

Whats my chances of finding a tune already

put super 6 timing maps and fuel maps and injector data and go from there ?

By what i have read on the net
Cant use super 6 trans as different to vr wiring side
Easier to bolt up motor and use vr wiring and vr auto trans on super 6 motor

isnt that just the module on the side of the box ? which you shouldn't need ? as long as the round plug that goes into the box is the same it should work ?

No idea holden202T about the electrical side of the box.
But wouldnt the only benefit of the vt super 6 box be that its probably 1% stronger than my current vr 4l60e ?

Found another guy on here that done the mechanical side of the swap on a vr ute and he used vr 4l60e to l67 motor.
i pm him and he said he didnt do the tune was done by a shop with kalmaker
