Hello guys
I’m a bit of a dummy when it comes to this part of setting up a car etc.
So I have a vyv6 auto ute in which I’ve put a turbo kit in from tony garage rated at 250rwkw

I’m in Adelaide and rather than spend the $1000 on tune, I’d rather learn here
So I’ll apologise in advance for really stupid question and responses,

So
My questions are....
What programs do I need,
What else is needed for me to start playing with
My stock/ boosted L36 cars management system to get everything well via home tune stuff

So vy v6 is the flash PCM, so you will only need an ALDL interface. This wont give you realtime tuning ability. However you have the ability to re-write the loom connector for a VT computer and then run the1's enhanced VY Supercharged tune with the PCM NVRAM if you do want realtime. This will make your tuning easier but is not essential. You'll also want to install a wideband. If you havnt had a look through the FAQ (frequently asked questions) that is a good place to start. The link is the green FAQ button up in the top right of the screen.

Cheers,
Antus

Thanks for your response
Seems pretty in-depth to me

So my next question is

Does any sell something where it’s like a plug and play
Where they have a hacked/flashed unit that will accomodate my needs

Its not that hard, there isnt really any benefit to getting someone to flash the bin for you as you need the same tools and knowledge to flash a bin as you do to flash a tune as you go. I'd suggest you get an ALDL interface and OSE Flashtool, do a get bin so you have the starting point, then flash in the1's enhanced for VY in to it, confirm you can still start it and then learn to start logging the car. You would only flash the1s enhanced bin the first time, you essentially need to click through the mention of checksums at the end and of the first attempt and then let it do it again a second time (the dialog is poorly worded but the second time it is able to write the correct checksum). Once thats done load the xdf and adx files in tuner pro and you are ready to start gathering data an editing the tune. When you have a set of changes read to go in only do a write cal from this point.

You can tick an option so it will check & fix checksum on first write from what I remember.

Antus,
Can you elaborate on the real time tuning please for me?
I have a VX v6 n/a, so standard PCM I believe.
What's involved to allow me to do real time tuning?

Regards
John.

To get realtime, you need to replace the computer. To do this you'd need to source a VT computer and the connector from the loom to the PCM, and install it in to you car. Then you would get a PCM NVRAM board with the1's enhanced supercharged tune to suit the car. See viewtopic.php?f=14&t=3617 as well as the hardware and software guide in the FAQ area (link up near top right).
