Cold start car stalls when taking off help needed
Re: Cold start car stalls when taking off help needed
I get what you mean now quip4it
I will try lean / blend of the 8 deg c across the board from 20 to 80kpa or so and see how i go. Thanks mate
Will try over the weekend and let yous know how i go

Re: Cold start car stalls when taking off help needed
Maybe even play with the 32 deg. as well.
The bubble trace actually shows merging into that area.
8 degree sector will definitely help coming into winter.

Thanks will try over next couple of days and let you know how I go
Re: Cold start car stalls when taking off help needed
Ok so i tried to lean of the 8deg c and 20deg c cells as seen below.
tried last night after work and it was cold outside prob around 10deg outside or so.
Car started as per normal foot on brake put it into drive stalled straight away before i accelerated
Started back up put back into drive and took of like nothing happened.
So i richen it back up to somewhere in between were it was last night and were it was originally on the 1st page. Like in the middle.
Started it this morning put into drive on the brake and went to take, off stalled as soon as i accelerated.
Started back up and took of perfectly normal.
Car is not throwing any engine codes or fault codes.
Drives perfect besides this cold start problem.
If i start it from dead cold , and blip the accelerator it does not splutter or miss. Revs ok and smoothly.
Only stalls when its under load in drive from stone cold.
I have noticed if i start the car up stone cold and let it run for about 10 sec it is pretty good by then.
You mention the 2nd stage crank base. Does that stop after the car has been running for 6 seconds ? Could be maybe 2 much fuel there.

Re: Cold start car stalls when taking off help needed
If it starts up without excessive cranking it won't go into second stage. Even first stage would decay by then.
It looks like you may have gone too far if that first screen shot shows the differences. 0.3 change would be what I would try.
Is the idle speed the same between the first start and second start.
Did you sort the kickdown.

Re: Cold start car stalls when taking off help needed
OK will try. 3 leaner tonight after work and let you know how it goes.
Hard to gauge idle as it all happens in 1st 10 sec and idle is still up around 1000rpm or so.
Kickdown looks sorted also thanks.
Starts after 3 spin overs when warm
And takes about 4 when cold if you get what I mean

Re: Cold start car stalls when taking off help needed
If your injectors are bigger than stock, you can adjust the Stage 1 and Stage 2 cranking tables by the percentage change in injectors.
Even a higher flow fuel pump needs adjustment.
You can also increase the Stage 1 table to maximum number of reference pulses, so it doesn't see Stage 2.
Adjusting the Crank Decay Step size may help.
Did you try these; Crank - First Stage Crank Base Pulse Width vs Coolant Temp compared to Second Stage, as mentioned earlier.
Working with these variables should see a result.

Re: Cold start car stalls when taking off help needed
I am running the super charged 6 factory injectors and resized the first and second stage crank settings by the % difrence between the standard 19lb injectors and the 36lb I think super 6 injectors of top of my head.
Crank Decay Step size Il have a look into. if this. 3 leaner does not work over the next 24 hrs or so

Re: Cold start car stalls when taking off help needed
Yes, only one thing at a time
If that doesn't give results, swap back to previous settings. Then try Decay Step size, Stage 1 Reference Pulses and so on.

Re: Cold start car stalls when taking off help needed
Ok done thanks for the help mate
Just saw is a idle a/f ratio vs coolant temp
Does this have any affect also ?
