Memcal VR V6 installed
Hi
I went and got a memcal, and for me, I haven't noticed any difference at all with this memcal. It was said to be a Performance Memcal.
When installing it I Disconnected the battery. Also had pulled the fuse.
Now I remember some one had said you wouldnt notice any difference. I believe there should be some differences.
This is what I received, and had to plug my factory chip onto it, then install.
What could be wrong?
Thanks
Pete

If you plugged your own factory chip (memcal) on to this green PCB adapter there would certainly be no performance gain.Pete30nz wrote: This is what I received, and had to plug my factory chip onto it, then install.

The install piece of paper recons to have them plugged together, it did make me wonder why.

Sorry Pete I have miss led you. Looking closer at the Moates board I realise now that under the white label there is a programed chip which would be running the engine.
The green board can also except a memcal with a knock board which your memcal has.
One would expect a performance gain with the way you have this plugged in. Maybe ring Moats and see what he knows about the programmed board

Moates make the board t uses the cylinder select and backup resistors plus knock filter of the original memcal. Obviously mace ran out of memcals
If Its Got Gas Or Ass Count Me In.if it cant be fixed with a hammer you have an electrical problem

Thanks Kojab and Delcowizzid.
Although I did receive a refund, I'm still after a tune.
I guess there would be a way to see if there was any adjustments made at all. Shift points don't feel any different.
My aldl and laptop could save the Bin file?
Cheers

The OSE flash tool should be able to read the program then use Tunerpro to compare it to the standard program.

Hi
All I have right now is the tunerpro, aldl cable and laptop.
I see tunerpro has the ose plugin.
Unsure how else to do this.
Will try and find a video on it.
Cheers

Don't know if that's what you need. The OSE flash tool is here. It was written by some of the clever people that use this forum. I have a VR V8 and I could get the program from the diagnostic plug but you need a eprom burner to put it back.

I wasn't going to originally, but if it's in my budget, I mite look at getting a chip and burner.
I've messaged Antus just now.
