Thanks,
I'm thinking that I'll wait to smoke test it, then if the gaskets still leaking, I'll do the gaskets. The ones currently fitted were good ones from Mace Engineering. If this is the first time they come loose in near 100,000km, then not too bad. But I will, have, taken your suggestion and will act on your suggestion again, most likely in time.

I need to rule out the possibility of the superior inlet gaskets might have a leak, which could be causing my little miss fire like symptoms at idle? I'm still monitoring for that possibility.

Thanks again. Weather here has gone terrible for the next few days, so not much I can do on the car just yet.

I can't recall, but Gareth has one and showed me years ago but I forgot what they look like.

Have you done a compression test? I know that having a little different comp between the cylinders does make idle a little like it's uneven or like a slight miss but sounds normally once you bring the revs up.
I'm the director of VSH (Vlad's Spec Holden), because HSV were doing it ass about.

Ok. Yes I have done a compression test a few times. They did come up slightly off Ballance but within specs of the service manual. Here were my last results. All dry tests though at near running temperature.

1/5/2023 @ 537237 km all dry tests.

Cylinder 1
Test 1 = 185
Test 2 = 185
Cylinder 2
Test 1 = 190
Test 2 = 190
Cylinder 3
Test 1 = 180
Test 2 = 185
Cylinder 4
Test 1 = 195
Test 2 = 200
Cylinder 5
Test 1 = 190psi
Test 2 = 190psi
Cylinder 6
Test 1 = 180
Test 2 = 185
