VF BCM programming

Post by VT1GER »

Hey guys, need some help on how to access the BCM on a Holden VF commodore. ECU is no issue, I use HPTuners currently. But I've come to a point where I need to disable RAP (Retained Accessory Power) in particular, the radio. I need it to turn on/off with the key rather than hold power until the drivers door is opened. I just don't know where to start on accessing the BCM to edit any settings. Thanks in advance for any info.

I cant say I've done this, but I'd think if it was a settable option, it'd be in GDS2.

There are no actual 'settings' to modify for that in GM software unfortunately.

It would require custom programming to control to disable, but its not something I have ever looked into or reverse engineered.

The radio itself goes to sleep and wakes up from commands sent from the BCM. Its also the same commands that affect all other parts of the car too. So it would not just affect the radio.

Fake the door switch with a relay off ignition?
According to chemistry, alcohol is a solution...

Have tried this using the door lock signal to pulse a ground to the door when locking, it definitly works to turn off the radio but the car also just unlocks straight away half the time, if its even slightly out of sync it thinks a door has been left open and just unlocks.

What's all the VF stuff in?

I assumed it was a transplant of some sort
