Yeah it takes a good cold winter to iterate and dial in the cold cranking and other cold start/warmup tables. It takes many full stone cold to warm up cycles, thus many days to weeks to dial this in as you only have one shot each day for a few sec per each deg C table cell to quickly observe symptoms/data and behavior. You make a change, then you wait until it's dead cold again the next day, rinse and repeat.
Living in Vic makes all the issues show up due to huge temp range of both ends. Less of an issue in other more northern states where the temps are more steady and narrow. Where I live, we get as low as negative 1-2 in the morning most days during winter, no more than 5-7 during the day on average, then in summer it's mid to high 30s, sometimes low 40s, but as low as 10 at night on a clear night. Then you have the humidity, 85-100% during winter, 25-35% during summer most often plus the huge day/night humidity swings.
Makes you get good at tuning fast though
I'm the director of VSH (Vlad's Spec Holden), because HSV were doing it ass about.
