For sale/Expression of interest Vlad's VR and Red VP.

Post by vlad01 »

Hi Guys,

Due to some family circumstances, my own health and the owner of the farm my, Mum's heath due to old age, she is selling up and the whole family is clearing out stuff kept at the farm.

I am looking at an expression of interest in the sale of my red VP as is, but I am wanting to sell the VR as a roller as a minimum because I want to keep the running gear for the parts on it to save for the only project car I am not willing to give up which is the VP S.

Currently I have no where to keep those two cars once the farm sells and probably most of my tools and stuff, but I am sure I can squeeze them in somewhere in my townhouse but that is not possible with the cars unless I can find someone willing to store them for me?

Best case is when Mum buys a nice property in the central area of town that there could be a shed or decent garage I can store stuff but that is an unknown this far out, but I figured I have two too many cars to keep up with in my own state of health anyway so might as well try and move them on either way.

For those that aren't familiar with these two cars and joined after the build thread, it's all in the member rides sub forum "Vlads rides thread"

Some pics here.

I am not sure on price due to economic times, I find very conflicting price ranges throughout the market and people's personal opinions on price.
So I am all ears on that.

That's what I am afraid of, the market seems all over the shop. I posted the VR on FB a few days ago, not even a peep but like anything ever sells on FB anyway.

Caresales was my go to, but they have ruined it as of last year with the forcing of an account signup to browse for cars for more than about 3 or so searches, so casual buys are turned away from carsales by what I assume is a pay wall.

Are there any places like this in your part of the country? https://richmonds.com.au/cars-for-sale/?str=holden They are the kind of place that someone looking and prepared to pay for mint would go. Plus I have no idea how long they will leave a car in the shop for, but such an arrangement would give it a home for a while too.
Have you read the FAQ? For lots of information and links to significant threads see here: http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1396

You don't need an account to view cars on carsales.com just to sell one. I sold my mothers car last year and it got great coverage and sold to the second person. I just had a look and theres 100 Executive Commodores listed. I'll try a few more times and see what the result is.

Thats a great idea! I never considered an auction house like this. I searched and they have sold VPs on there, even a reasonably clean VP exec too which means the chances of sale should be decent.

Maybe I'll check them out. I think to get the best price I will need to sort the front end and get the right springs as it looks stupid (Kings don't actually equate to their listed heights) I have standard all round and the front ended up raised to country pack height and the rear are at FE2 lowered height, so the stocks being shorter Bilstein, the front needs some lowered springs to level the car back out. Also, I never went back to get the AC gassed after I fitted the new compressor. All the stuff and a new dry is there, just need to make the appointment to get it done.

I think those two things will make it much more presentable for sale and then it will be 100% complete and in mint order. Also need to get a new programmer as the memcal isn't updated as the GQ-4X died during this process. I updated a few minor "bugs" or more correctly refinements in my understanding of tuning and a heap of changes for a cooler thermostat too.

Otherwise the car is a real pleasure to drive and really hauls ass!

It always does for me, not straight away, but say after looking at a few cars or searching about 2-3 times. eg, search 3 different models consecutively and I get a account signup wall. I can't even circumvent it with a different PC, so it much work on an IP block. Been like this since 2023 I reckon.

The more you try to use caresales over a period of time, the quicker this signup wall appears.

I normally don't even get to look at all the VPs listed and there normally aren't many of them on there  :comp:
