ECU replacment

Post by MOPAR »

I picked up a 2016 Fiat Ducato that was missing the ECU (edc17cp52) It has the original BCM and Key Fob, my question is, to put a secondhand ecu out of another Fiat Ducato in it is it just a matter of modifying the Vin number in the EEPROM on the ecu with a KTAG to match the original vehicle vin number to keep the immobiliser happy or is there more to it? I know I can do Immo off but would like to maintain security.

being pre-2019 i would assume so, but i maybe should let someone who owns one of those ...things put their 2 cents in. i loved being a mopar tech....job security haha. do you need to bypass uconnect in any way? all modules would be daisy chained so if something isnt right id imagine the vcm would throw a fit, but being pre 2019 it may be chill about it.
