Here are the points to connect a max232 to your '808 to provide 'no echo' type comms at 8192 baud

you need some capacitors between some of the max232 pins also though don't you ?

Yes, you need the whole typical standard max232 circuit. You could use the variant that has built in capacitors too. Thats left an an exercise for the reader :)

I have been looking for a simple cable to work thats usb.
found the following but what does TTL level 3.3 volt or 5volt have to do with it.

I am thinking of trying the 5v but better to ask dumb question than fry a ecm / pcm

If anyones interested i just found a way to get an echo on the above hi speed mod.You just need one diode and a 1k resister.Just hooked it up to my 808 and tunerpro worked fine and so did vl400s flash tool,whereas before i could only use scannerpro. :director:

interesting, so this is a link between pin 11 and 12 on the max232 i am guessing ?
