hi new to the forum stumbled across it looking for info on my t5 conversion seems to be alot clever people on this forum and was wondering what ppl think is the best way to approach this. i know i need a manual ecu to run it but heard u can adjust an auto one to suit, and what else can recommend performance wise its just a thrash car so not really fussed with it be a 100% streetable um btw if it helps its a 94 vr calais with headers bashed out cat, mandrel bent exhaust and 3.45 gears.
thanks kinda new to this so go easy and any help will be greatly appreciated

Re: vr v6 t5 conversion help..
i guess it depends if you want to be able to tune it .... if you do your best option would be to use a vn/vp v6 loom and ECM then just get the $12P code base and use that for tuning.
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Given it's in a VR, would suggest get an 808 and one of VL400's update boards to make it the same as a VR factory manual ECU (as these are rare and $$'s).
Re-pin existing wiring harness and then modify connectors to suit 808, this would save rewiring vehicle.
Then use VL400's $12P or a factory $12 bin and start tuning.

thanks for the quick replies info sound fairly easy being as im not bad but not very advance computer wise how difficult would it to adjust to suit and tune from there with say tunerpro and right equipment, is the program reasonably self explainitory

If obly used for a thrash car, you may evem get away with just disabling all the Auto faults.
Speedo may be another thing, but if this isn't important you could possibly just get a rough tune going.
The program itself is easy, it's just knowing what to change, the guys on here are very helpful, and you could possibly get somebody to do you something to try and see how it goes.

have a read with the basic tuning guide in my signature, if you feel you'll be able to do it from reading that then give it a go yourself!

Re: vr v6 t5 conversion help..
With the T5 and auto PCM, once the auto fault codes are turned off the only issue is the PCM wont know about the vehicle speed (your dash can be made to work still). Like yoda said, for a thrash car its not going to be a huge issue.
