WOW. There are some really talented people here. Just read this whole post start to finish. Most of it is another language to me. Keep up the awesome work.

i have concoured this and worked it all out, managed to remove read, and write to my chip and then replace. editing ks, with no errors yet! level 3 dash upgrade now working in my vs, reading correct Ks for car. thanks to the help of this post.

my questions are -

1. wondering as i have a 3m clip on type connector that fits the chip and onto my programmer. would it harm or damage anything by programming chip while still on board ?, as i find the soldering the most challanging time consumbing part, dont want to kill/damage my trip computor system as it will be used in Ek sedan.

2. im looking to put - vs ecotec, level 3 BCM, electric windows, remote unlock, security, into my EK sedan, so would like to learn codes, functions, and to control/ understand the bcm. any help or leads greatly appreciated.

my aim if possible is to intergrate to ek dash with out radically changing the old school look of original EK dash, the vs speedo, gauges, trip computor strip. i realise i may need to recallabrate the vs gauges to read correct behind the ek facias [more research/learning]. and custom fit, make all electrical conections to each, i love a challange. :)

no, the chip can't be reprogrammed while still on board (unless the serial port interface is worked out on the microcontroller, basically what the vdo unit does)

BCM is completely independent to the l3 trip computer

Sorry to move in on this, but I have been programming the VY-VZ eproms with a 3m clip & doing while still on the board with 100% success wouldn't it be the same as the VS eproms?

I have also read VT-VX eproms(with same 3m clip & GQ programmer) too posted in another thread here, but haven't yet try to reprogram these as I don't have enough info on them yet!

no it won't work, somewhere in the previous pages i mentioned i'd tried this, the extra circuitry on the board messes with the data to/from the chip.
reads all 0's and writes nothing.

the 3 m clip seems to work fine, and i managed to read, erase, write, test in car, works :), just to check i put different ks in and checked, it works with no errors every time. im happy that worked :) with no damage.

The1, guessing there's a flow cal number for when the vehicle isn't moving and just sitting idling to calc the fuel used... be interesting to to work out the datastream from the ecu to the trip computer, looks like it actually communicates a fair bit of info.

3. Can cluster speedo been Modded for different gear ratios? also can i create a 250KMS speedo and claibrate?

4. How can i mod RPg Gauge? want to have a custom 10,000 RPM in a factory style.

5. Below is the programer i purchased for odo,is this correct one??????
