So the beer is flowing on a sat arvo... this is only suitable for for VN - Early VS 5.0L i'm guessing.
Good ol batch firing and no sequential injection, but looking at what the US used for an ignition module on chev v8's looks damn similar to what the JE camira had.... and other holden vehicles... this is what happens when i stick my head in an imported vehicles engine bay and wonder where the holden bits of the same era are....

looking at the pinout for a 165 ecu, is this a "cheap" viable option for ignition module replacement? some plugs ratted from the local wrecker, soldering and heat shrink involved........

for about 1/3 the cost of a "reco'd" ignition module (shitload less than a b/new one)... just missing having a v8 to play with now and implement it (or impatient and don't want to wait the few weeks to have the one on the engine stand built and running).......
damn beer and thinking about ignition modules..

thats what i used on the 202 in place of the electronic dizzy to interface it to a delco its basically a JE Camira setup .... what exactly is your plan for the vn-vs ? to replace the original setup in it ?

No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

no real plan... have a 308 on the way which i want to convert to efi but currently putting an old 253 together (have an old *cough* EA center point injection tb/carb), few 808's lying around was looking for a cheap way to get it running the old 4.2 is being dropped in a torrie but hey if i can get rid of carbs and run efi without changing cam, heads and manifold.... as for VN-VS the ignition module simply, same shit different shovel by the looks of it

Yep, no reason why you cant do that. Just need a suitable v8 distributor with reluctor, and make sure the reference angle is 10 degrees in the tune. They are also easy to find at the wreckers in N13 pulsars and some daewoos which still run distributors.

Re: damn beer and thinking about ignition modules..
from what i have read the US guys were only changing some ecu pinouts to convert from 165 maf to 808 vn map code without touching the ignition control.... darn... now i need to work out what dizzy the chev runs
