Hey all
Here is a photo of my 1984 FJ40 which i purchased a few months ago.
The previous owner did the conversion. It has a VS V6 Ecotec mated up to the original toyota 5 speed manual gearbox using an adapter.
It has a custom memcal in it. Not sure who did it but here are some photos. Looks like it is a Auto PCM with a manual memcal

Only taken it out on the beach once and lost all my coolant out the exhaust. Turns it was the inlet manifold gasket which is pretty common on these engines. Before that happened it was going pretty well, i couldnt get myself bogged even when i was trying to.ejukated wrote:Nice! How does it go?
The o2 sensors were not working properly either, had a bad ground which was making it run rich and idle like crap.
All fixed now and it is running like a dream. Runs really smooth around the streets and can get up to 120kph on the freeway without any worries.
Just need to give it a good run and get some fuel usage numbers now.

if you had coolant going though the exhaust/engine I would replace those O2 sensors. It would run more efficient if they are replaced given what happen to them.
