Hey guys,
As the title says, In the missus Calais (VX, L67, 4L60e) when on a steep incline the car will roll backwards (idling, transmission in Drive) from a stand still.
Transmission behaves in every other respect. Really not sure what the cause would be. Plenty of transmission fluid, not burnt etc
Any advice or suggestions welcome.
Thanks

Yeah I agree it's pretty normal if steep enough, you can bump the base idle up in the engine & it will fix it but then will use more fuel, brakes & try & pull on the flat stopping!

Bugger,
The idle is already higher and I wanted to knock it down a bit
My old VS V6 didn't seem to ever roll back and it had a lower idle if I remember correctly. Maybe it's the slightly looser converter used with the L67's?

Re: Auto trans, steep incline roll back
Might have to play with the open loop idle to try and save some fuel doing the stop/start tango around town.
Just need to define the stuff in the XDF.

Re: Auto trans, steep incline roll back
if its a larger converter it will definitely have less drive effect at idle!
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!
