New member here, thought id join here as I'm thinking about doing an EFI 202 from scratch and maybe even having a Hyundai iload diesel turbo on the side of it, but that's a fair way down the track, current drive is a Holden HJ Ute which i did a full rebuild on with a bog stock 202, (still has points dizzy), hopefully one day that will change, but it pulls well all the way to 4500, but than the points bounce, so i never really push it hard, only a 4 speed and 3:55 Banjo diff
I'm only a young Bloke, 17, 18 soon, the old man is a mechanic and has been for the last 35-40 yrs, was also GMH dealer once so we still have a lot of the old delco stuff lying around, done heaps of engine conversions, got a fair bit of wiring experience and understanding of electrics
put a VN v6 into a Mazda e2200 Ute (little dual wheels), joined VN loom and Mazda loom together,
rewired my Ute, that was easy as there wasn't many wires
and did a full loom for dads Hot rod, Bedford Ute with VR v6, that was abit more interesting, as there's computers for the door openers, gear indicator and whatever else we put in it,
I've had a fair bit to do with carbies and tuning them but never tuned EFI before, had scan tools on things and run tests but that's about it, I'm a good listener, i guess that's how I've learnt what i have,
keen to learn more about the delco computers, as we are a Holden family, and maybe abit on the early falcon stuff,
Thought id do an intro

welcome mate, good to have another fellow 202'er
sounds like you've played with a few different cars in your time, and if you know how to tune a motor with a carby and dizzy then EFI is really only a matter of learning what the carby/dizzy stuff is in computer terms, its not a one day learning curve but you will find all the info and people are on hand here to assist with anything you need.
if your wanting to use the VN computer on the 202 have a read of this thread: http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=4
and also in my signature there are some links for more reading

No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Welcome aboard
Lots of tinkering for a 17 year old!

Re: Thought id do an intro
Have you put a set of XU-1 points in it ? That will stop point bounce in stock 202 or if there hard to find these days just rip the spring out if an old set of points and double them up on the points your using now, prob won't get much more hp but atleast they won't bounce

cheers guys,
and we all know 202's are the ultimate engine
ones are even better
thanks for the extra links
, will most likely use a VN computer or even vs one sequential injection but that's another ball park , i think we've got some brand new ones here from when we had the dealership
for a 17yr old i do believe I've been around abit for my age, i guess its also dads fault, father like son ahaha
I'm not all concerned about the points bounce, but thanks for the tip
its probably a good thing, might make the motor last abit longer, as i don't no anything about it, other that it has huge amounts of compression, will ping abit on BP 98 with 10 degrees timing, so i put it to 8degrees and doesn't seem to be pinging, one day ill put one of the electronic dizzies I've got in it

The VS computer can be used, and tuned, if you want boost you'll need to use the1's enhanced s/c software http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=2518 which supports more boost than factory. And depending how much boost might need to install another MAF. That will work just fine, but you'll likely find the VN comp, 12P and MAP easier, and little gains for sequential.. technically its better, but in practice its not much of a difference. All the fuel still gets to the cylinder and the same amount goes bang.
Indeed. More people tend to prefer tuning MAP which is what the VN computer is. And VL400's aftermarket software, ose12p http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=356 (see the links in Holden202T's signature for more info, and also the FAQ - link up the top right).Macca97 wrote:cheers guys,
