Does anyone know the part numbers of the 2 seals for the power head of the rack & where to get them?
I've just been told by GM there no longer available & just a simple 4cm wide by 2mm o ring (or there abouts) & a normal seal for shaft at the top about 25mm x 15mm x 5mm (again at a guess).
They can leak internally through worm shaft but outer case seals are more common & a bit annoying there N.L.A.

I would imagine an after market supplier will have these for sure. There have to be millions of these steering racks in circulation.
Try any good bearing shop as they all stock seals as well. You could also try a local power steering outfit.

No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

try steering rebuilds australia in Keilor park.
They have to be one of the best steering places around in my experience.

I'm the director of VSH (Vlad's Spec Holden), because HSV were doing it ass about.

Try CBC they have cataloged info on their system so they should be able to identify them.

Re: VT series 1 power steering rack seals
Have found it quite annoying that the last 2 parts for my VY commodore have either been NLA or NS from holden also.
Have you checked ebey for them? i don't know exactly the parts you mean but i had a quick look and found this one http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/HOLDEN-COMMO ... 27d5075935

Re: VT series 1 power steering rack seals
Thanks for all the replies, yeah those parts would be the 1's but for most leaks only really need 2 out of that set, but they do leak up through the middle of torsion bar so that kit will do the lot I think!
Thanks again all, I might try the bearing wholesaler for the 2 main seals I'm after.
