think you can as SRE and portcity engines are building Buicks with 9.7+ CR, so I heard they use ACL pistons. hypatec do not offer anything like that.

thinking same thing here, was searching for 3800 series 1 pistons with no luck.

our buick v6s dont seem to exist in the USA in terms of aftermarket performance parts.

The other option is custom rods to make use of all the ecotec pistons out there.

Even the ecotec Pistons I found have a slight dish.

I know flat tops have existed as I have a set in the motor I bought. Unfortunately no3 and no4 have cracked ringlands.

its only 6cc iirc which is huge boost in CR over the 25.5cc stock buick ones are. You can buy them flat top too, diamond do them. Ask sicsix as they regularly have flat tops made and imported to their specs.

here is a site I just quickly googled that offer many specs for the diamond pistons and even have drop down option for custom ones.

correction: ecotec ones are about 4cc dish, its tiny!

with custom rods you can take advantage and decrease the deck, stock vn/vp I measured about 1mm. you could in fact run 0 or even -ve deck like the ecotec does and get some real high CR ratio even with stock ecotec pistons. you'd easy get over 13:1 doing that.

the combustion chambers on vn/vp are tiny compared to ecotec and even smaller on vr again.

Yes, that is one of the reasons for staying with the l27. Ie small combustion chambers. I think the simplest solution and probably the least costly would be some custom Pistons. I could comes at $1000 for a set. It would hurt, but I could talk myself into it. ;)

maybe an option?

Not sure how compatible the old school pre Ln3 buick pistons are in our series 1 buicks?
