Thanks, yeah it blows a bit of smoke under revs. If I Choose running average on O2 volts the volts at idle are mid to high 800's so not too bad, but way too high under acceleration, in the 900's still.

if your tune is targetting 14 at idle i'd even say 800 it too rich

Just checked the plugs and they were fouled and They were cleaned before the last run that I logged. I will copy the VE table into Excel and work out a percentage to reduce the values by.

If the existing values look reasonable (not too high not too low) why not just drop the knijflow value a little.

Good point but the cruise/higher rpm numbers are way off 500, they are like 850-900. Question though, How does load affect the VE? I am testing with no load on the motor at all.
I used the kinjflow calculator to work out the value for the injectors and allowed for the Holden fudge factor However maybe I coulddrop the kinjflow value to get the idle VE correct as that is only a little bit out and adjust the rest of the VE table from there.
I have already prepared a new VE table to adjust for what I believe should be the correct O2 voltages and there was a definite pattern in the value adjustments required. Maybe this pattern has been manufactured by my calcs? Or could this be due to the difference in plenum/intake design and displacement variances and its affect on VE. It's Definitely an interesting exercise and much more interesting than turning idle screws. Ha, Not sure what the weber enthusiasts would say about that. Cheers

Just going to add, would be much easier with the wideband and holden 202's spreadsheet. But like I say to the young blokes at work if you just do all the easy stuff all the time you won't learn the fundamentals of how it all works.HQ355 wrote:I'd wait until wideband is set up, it's so much easier

yeah you gotta do something to entertain yourself till the wideband arrives 
as for the VE table, more than likely the characteristics of your motor and inlet/exhaust system are all going to offset it somewhat, even the cam will play a part in it ...
kinjflow or ve table, doesn't really matter, play with them both, see which does what, as long as you save your files as new changes you can always go back to the previously working one.

First VE table values were no good and it was stumbling on acceleration but also not blowing any black clouds as it was running leaner so pasted the original values back in and all good again. Back to the drawing board. Might try playing with the kinjflow values next.

I would adjust the knijflow to get the idle close and then play with the VE table. As 202 said they will be different for your engine and you should have the maximum VE at the point of maximum torque for your engine. Free revving from idle up and making small changes then start the driving. If you play back the history tables for O2 sensor and the VE you should start to get a reasonable picture.
