They go by many names, P01, P59, VPW, '0411 etc. Also covering E38 and newer here.

Mafless ls1

Post by pas94 »

Hi,
My friend has an ls1 he wants to put in a model A. He wants to run itbs. He has no loom or computer at this stage, just looking for the best way to run it. Any advice on which computer to use? I have wide band, timing light and eeprom programmer.
Thanks
Paul

Best way will be with an 0411 PCM and a new wiring loom made to suit will be best for that.

You'll also probably need to run a vacuum port off each TB to a junction and then from the junction to the MAP sensor.
You would, in effect, be running a modified Callaway C4B type setup but with ITBS instead of 1 TB.

Seen that done on an LSX worked good in the end. Look up the VR Senator on street commodores or commodores plus. Has an LSX 454 in it.

What's the 0411 pcm from? Will it work with the factory crank and cam sensors and coils?

That's the service number for the LS1 PCM with cable throttle body. VT VX VY Holden LS1.

Yep. Technically its the last 4 numbers of the service number (not the whole number) but thats what people call them. Used on ls1 applications here and in the states (and likely elsewhere). When searching use 0411 ecm for lots of hits.

What's the best software to use to program it? Most seem to be licence based what's a rough idea of cost?

Well.. guess that means your more looking into what commerical tuning package you want to go with?

The two main ones are HPTuners and EFILive. Roughly 100usd I think (2credits) using HPTuners.
Or, when you buy the HPTuners kit, they include 8 credits I think.
